In the case of Peru Rail, the train service operator that has different routes leading to Machu Picchu, they are promoting offers to purchase train tickets to Machu Picchu.
You can reserve a train ticket with a 25% discount and you can travel to Machu Picchu between July and September 2019. The train tickets are for trips on Peru Rail’s luxury trains. The main feature of these trains is the onboard service, as during the route from Cusco to Machu Picchu, you can enjoy dances, music, gastronomy, and more.
Additionally, by booking a tourist train to Machu Picchu, you make your trip to Machu Picchu an incredible experience, as the trains are specially equipped for travelers, allowing you to see the landscape from different perspectives than what you normally can appreciate on a car trip or on the famous local train.
Discounts for purchases are only applicable on July 15, 16, and 17, but you have the opportunity to travel until September.
And these are the terms and conditions for purchasing a train to Machu Picchu:
- Promotion valid for purchase on July 15, 16, and 17 or until availability of spaces to travel between July and October, subject to availability.
- Prices include VAT and the discount.
- Valid only for new purchases.
- The promotional rate is per person and subject to space availability.
- Promotion valid for all frequencies, the percentage of discount varies by train and by slot.
- Departure from San Pedro Station, Wanchaq, Poroy (Cusco), Ollantaytambo, Urubamba, and Machu Picchu.
- Not applicable for child fares.
- Not valid for name changes, date changes, schedule changes, frequencies, and/or money refunds.
- Transportation to/from the departure/arrival station is not included in the ticket price.
- PeruRail Sacred Valley, PeruRail Vistadome, and PeruRail Expedition do not include entry tickets to the Machu Picchu citadel (INC ticket) nor transportation to and from the Inca citadel (Consettur bus ticket). Belmond Hiram Bingham does include the aforementioned.
