South Valley

Itinerary

First, after picking you up from your hotel, the South Valley Tour begins with a journey of approximately 15 miles (24 km). Soon, we head east towards the archaeological site of Tipón. Indeed, it is one of the most important sites in the area, as well as an ancient and sacred place where the Incas worshiped water, one of the most sacred natural elements. Even today, water still flows through the impressive series of channels and terraces of Tipón. Most importantly, you will visit with your expert guide on the subject.

Next, we will head to the small town of Huaro, where we will visit its church dating back to the 16th century, known for its extraordinary murals by Tadeo Escalante. We will then continue our South Valley Cusco tour with our guide to the last stop of the trip, the Museum of Sacred Stones. Here, we will discover nearly 200 ancient geological artifacts, including functional and utilitarian stones such as pipes, wheels, and more. Additionally, we will see stones used for ceremonial purposes.

To conclude, we will visit the church of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas.”

Finally, you will be back in Cusco and dropped off at your hotel in time to enjoy a full evening after completing the South Valley Cusco Tour!
