Itinerary
Pickup from your hotel at 08:00 AM to depart in tourist transport.
The first ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE visited will be PISAQ, located 32 km from Cusco. We will then visit the typical artisan market in PISAQ, where you can buy handicrafts, stone works, textiles, musical instruments, and more. Here, you can also meet local residents dressed in traditional attire (Typical market only on Sundays, and artisan market every day). We will continue our journey through the valley, passing by the district of URUBAMBA, in the province of the same name, 76 km from Cusco (via Pisaq). Here, we will enjoy lunch at a tourist restaurant.
The next destination will be the archaeological site of OLLANTAYTAMBO, 94 km via Pisaq. This town is built on the foundations of the ancient Inca city. Ollantaytambo is surrounded by agricultural terraces, the Temple of the Sun, the Kachiqhata stone quarries, pyramids, walls, and the “Ten Niches” enclosure; in conclusion, the tour is guided.
The following destination will be the archaeological center of OLLANTAYTAMBO, 94 km via Pisaq. This town is built on typically Inca foundations, where agricultural terraces are seen everywhere. We will explore the fortresses of Chocana and Inkapintay, Mañay Raqay Square, also known as K’uychipunku, the Royal House of the Sun, the Temple of the Sun, the Kachiqhata stone quarries, pyramids, walls, and the “Ten Niches” enclosure; the tour is fully guided.
We will then continue our visit to the ARTISAN MARKET, the archaeological complex, and the colonial temple of CHINCHERO. Here, we will see the alpaca wool processing explained in native languages by local people.
Return to Cusco at 6:30 p.m.
